YuLife appoints Tal Gilbert as chief executive

YuLife has appointed Tal Gilbert as its new chief executive, with effect from January 2026, as the London-based employee benefits firm moves into its next phase of growth.
Gilbert succeeds YuLife founder, Sammy Rubin, who steps into the role of executive chair. Rubin will focus on long-term strategy, global partnerships and the company’s broader direction.
YuLife said Gilbert will lead efforts to strengthen its data and AI capabilities and develop its offerings for employers, advisers and insurers. The company operates in the employee benefits and insurance sector and positions itself at the intersection of work, health and financial protection.
Gilbert brings more than 20 years of experience across insurance, employee benefits and digital health. His previous roles include chief executive of Vitality US, acting chief executive of AIA Vitality in Hong Kong, and general manager of Vitality Health International. He has worked across the UK, US and Asia on engagement-led and data-driven insurance models.
His appointment coincides with the introduction of Yunity, described by YuLife as the intelligence layer underpinning its platform. The company said Yunity is intended to convert everyday engagement into insight, supporting earlier intervention and tailored support for individuals and organisations.
Commenting on his appointment, Gilbert said: “YuLife has built one of the most mission-driven and innovative companies in insurance and wellbeing. As AI reshapes knowledge work, employers will need to think creatively about how they support their people, creating opportunities for those who can understand health and financial needs earlier and respond more intelligently. YuLife is uniquely positioned to deliver proactive, personalised and measurable improvements at scale, and I’m excited to help grow a business that creates real value for individuals, organisations and insurers alike.”
Rubin said Gilbert’s experience aligned with the company’s next stage of development. “Tal is a world-class leader with deep experience at the intersection of insurance, behaviour change and global scale. As YuLife builds on its intelligence-led approach to supporting individuals, businesses and insurers earlier and more effectively, Tal is the right CEO to lead this next chapter. I look forward to supporting him as we continue to scale globally and reshape how insurance inspires people to live their best lives.”
YuLife was founded in 2016 and is headquartered in London. The company partners with insurers – including Bupa, MetLife and Old Mutual – and supports employers and employees across multiple international markets.
