Ultrahuman launches “world’s most accurate” smart ring for female health tracking after viO HealthTech acquisition

Wearable tech company Ultrahuman has unveiled what it calls the world’s most accurate smart ring for menstrual and ovulation tracking, following its acquisition of UK-based viO HealthTech.
The new Cycle & Ovulation Pro plug-in for the Ultrahuman Ring AIR uses viO’s OvuSense technology, a system with 15 years of clinical research and validation, to deliver more than 90% accuracy in ovulation confirmation. It will be available in the UK, US, EU, Australia and Canada from this month.
Unlike most menstrual tracking apps, which are designed around a standardised 28-day cycle, Cycle & Ovulation Pro adapts to real-world variability. It is designed for women with a wide range of cycle patterns, including those affected by polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS), endometriosis or thyroid conditions, who often find existing tools unreliable.
Features include highly accurate ovulation confirmation, personalised cycle insights, and Cycle Flags – indicators that highlight patterns such as early or late ovulation or short luteal phases. Users can also log mood, lifestyle and symptoms to better understand long-term health trends.
The development represents a crossover between regulated medical technology and consumer wellness. OvuSense is already FDA-cleared and CE-certified as a fertility monitoring device. Its adaptation for Ultrahuman’s smart ring brings clinical-grade accuracy into a mainstream wearable format.
Mohit Kumar, CEO of Ultrahuman, said the partnership combines:
“Best-in-class hardware, software and algorithms with a clinical background” to give women “cutting-edge tools to optimise their health”
Meanwhile, Rob Milnes, CEO of viO HealthTech, added that wearables are set to “shape the future of health” by making advanced insights accessible to wider audiences.
The launch also highlights growing demand for personalised women’s health technology. Traditional calendar-based apps have been criticised for inaccuracy and exclusion of those with irregular cycles. Analysts suggest clinically validated wearable devices could set a new standard, blending convenience with reliability.
For UK employers, the move underlines the broader trend of health tech enabling employees to better manage reproductive health – an area often overlooked in workplace wellbeing strategies. Accurate, accessible tools could help reduce stigma, support inclusion and improve productivity.
