E.ON staff raise more than £500,000 for Mind

E.ON employees have raised more than £500,000 for mental health charity Mind, as the energy company expands its focus on workplace wellbeing, colleague support and vulnerable customer care.
The fundraising milestone comes during Mental Health Awareness Week and forms part of E.ON’s partnership with Mind, which began in 2022.
According to the energy giant the funds will support services including mental health helplines, peer support communities and online information resources across England and Wales.
The partnership reflects growing employer focus on mental health support both inside and outside the workplace, particularly as organisations respond to rising levels of stress, financial anxiety and demand for wellbeing support.
E.ON said its approach goes beyond fundraising and includes wider efforts to embed mental wellbeing into workplace culture.
More than 100 employees have been trained as “Wellbeing Warriors” across the business, while the company also runs “Time to Talk” sessions designed to encourage open conversations around mental health.
The organisation has also introduced specialist training to help colleagues support vulnerable customers while protecting their own wellbeing.
Mental Health Awareness Week, which ran from 11 to 17 May, this year focused on the importance of compassionate and person-centred mental health support.
E.ON said the partnership with Mind has helped shape how the business approaches colleague wellbeing and psychological safety.
The company also pointed to the growing connection between financial pressures and mental health challenges, particularly among vulnerable customers and communities.
Research cited by E.ON shows around one in five adults in England is living with a common mental health condition, with the impact often felt most significantly in disadvantaged communities.
The business said this has reinforced the need for employers to support both employee wellbeing and wider community health outcomes.
In addition to mental health awareness initiatives, E.ON said colleagues have access to wellbeing resources, education, workplace support networks and employee benefits designed to help improve work-life balance.
The company said its partnership with Mind demonstrates how employers can play a broader role in reducing stigma, supporting early intervention and improving access to mental health support.
E.ON added that supporting mental wellbeing remains a long-term priority rather than a single awareness campaign activity.
