Corporate gifting firm, WellBox, has become a Certified B Corporation, formally joining a global movement of businesses meeting the highest standards of social and environmental impact.

The Manchester-based company, known for its curated gift boxes and wellbeing hampers, said the certification represents a “public commitment to doing business differently” – one that balances profit with purpose across every area of its operations.

B Corp certification, governed by non-profit B Lab, is awarded to companies that meet verified benchmarks across five areas: workers, customers, governance, environment and community. To qualify, businesses must score at least 80 points on the B Impact Assessment, a rigorous review of their social and environmental performance.

WellBox achieved a verified score of 91.3, reflecting its emphasis on ethical sourcing, sustainability and people-first culture.

The company said its model embeds giving and accountability into everyday business decisions. Each WellBox order donates directly to UK charities tackling issues such as food poverty and mental health, resulting in thousands of meals distributed to people in need.

WellBox also prioritises working with small, independent UK suppliers and has introduced measures to reduce waste, including cutting excess packaging and sourcing lower-impact materials.

Becoming a B Corp is not a one-time achievement. Certified businesses must recertify every three years and demonstrate continuous improvement as standards evolve. For WellBox, the process is seen as “a framework for holding ourselves to account and pushing to keep improving”.

The company said it plans to use its B Corp framework to strengthen supplier relationships, expand charitable partnerships and publish annual impact data to track progress.

For organisations using WellBox to send employee or client gifts, the certification signals a transparent supply chain and a company actively working to minimise its footprint.

WellBox joins a growing number of UK businesses using the B Corp framework to embed purpose into profit, part of a wider shift in how companies define value and accountability.
