Tesco Expands Holistic Employee Wellbeing Through Renewed Partnership with Wellhub
Streamlined registration, broader digital access, and inclusive wellness initiatives mark the next chapter in Tesco’s six-year collaboration with Wellhub.

Tesco has reaffirmed its commitment to employee wellbeing with the relaunch of its long-standing partnership with workplace wellness platform Wellhub. The move marks a significant evolution in the six-year relationship, with the retailer introducing an enhanced suite of wellbeing services for its 300,000+ UK-based colleagues.
Originally launched in January 2019, the partnership began with access to fitness facilities. Today, it has grown into a comprehensive wellbeing solution aligned with Tesco’s three core pillars: a healthy body, a healthy mind, and good nutrition. With more than 25,000 Tesco colleagues already subscribed, the latest updates are designed to widen access, drive engagement, and better support Tesco’s diverse workforce.
“After six years of partnership, Wellhub has evolved from simply being a gym benefit, by becoming more holistic proposition, aligning with our wellbeing strategy,” said Dhavani Bishop, Head of Group Colleague Health & Wellbeing at Tesco. “The increased accessibility of physical locations and the range of choice appeals to our diverse colleague base. With the streamlined one-click registration, access to physical fitness, mental wellbeing and family health we’re excited to relaunch this enhanced program across our UK and ROI businesses.”
Among the most notable improvements is a new, simplified one-click registration process, replacing the previous eight-step enrolment flow. This usability upgrade is expected to significantly reduce friction and encourage greater participation across Tesco’s workforce.
Other features introduced as part of the relaunch include:
- Broader Network Access: Tesco employees can now choose from over 3,000 partner fitness locations – up from 1,400 previously, ensuring greater geographic coverage and convenience.
- Holistic Wellbeing Tools: The platform now includes support for mental health, family wellness, nutrition, and movement, making it more inclusive and tailored to varied lifestyle needs.
- Flexible, Affordable Options: Employees can access services across different pricing tiers, making the program financially accessible to more people. Plans also offer the option to include family members at affordable rates.
- Group and Individual Challenges: Designed to boost engagement, the platform enables both team-based and organisation-wide wellness challenges that foster community and healthy habits.
- Targeted Programmes: Specialised initiatives such as parenting support and women’s health programmes further align the platform with Tesco’s internal employee resource groups.
For Tesco, the enhanced partnership supports both its people-first values and wider business goals. By offering personalised, flexible, and scalable wellbeing support, the retailer is better equipped to meet the evolving expectations of its workforce. In doing so, Tesco also joins a growing number of major employers placing employee health and happiness at the heart of their talent strategy.
