Employee benefits and insurance provider Personal Group has formed a new partnership with digital health provider DocHQ, aimed at improving access to healthcare services for employees.

The partnership brings together the two organisations around a shared focus on workplace wellbeing, with an emphasis on reducing barriers to care and supporting employers to create healthier workforces. Personal Group said the collaboration aligns with its approach to making employee benefits simpler and more accessible, while DocHQ focuses on delivering digitally enabled healthcare services.

As part of the partnership, employers using Personal Group’s services will be able to access DocHQ’s health support offer, including remote physiotherapy. DocHQ said its service provides appointments with chartered physiotherapists within 48 hours, compared with average NHS community physiotherapy waiting times of around 15 weeks.

DocHQ said earlier access to physiotherapy can reduce the risk of musculoskeletal problems becoming long-term conditions.

Arianne Riddell, chief client officer at Personal Group, said the partnership was intended to improve access to meaningful support.

“DocHQ shares our passion for improving employee wellbeing and widening access to support that genuinely makes a difference,” she said.

“Our partnership is rooted in a shared belief that better health outcomes start with removing barriers and empowering people to take control of their wellbeing.”

Amit Arora, chief commercial officer at DocHQ, said the two organisations were aligned in their approach to workplace health.

“Personal Group has a strong reputation for putting employees first, and our organisations are closely aligned in how we approach workplace wellbeing,” he said.

“By combining our strengths, we can help employers build healthier, happier workforces, reducing musculoskeletal risks.”

The partnership reflects growing employer interest in preventative health services, particularly for musculoskeletal conditions, which are a leading cause of sickness absence in the UK.
