Digital fitness platform Fitness On Demand has expanded its omni-fitness offering with a new heart rate training experience, as employers continue to explore technology-led approaches to physical wellbeing and employee engagement.

The update introduces real-time heart rate tracking, personalised performance feedback and effort-based rewards known as FIT Points. Fitness On Demand said the enhancements are designed to help users better understand their activity levels and sustain motivation, whether exercising on-site, at home or while travelling.

The move reflects growing interest among UK employers in measurable, flexible wellbeing tools that can support physical activity across hybrid and dispersed workforces.

Fitness On Demand’s platform connects with users’ existing wearable devices, enabling live tracking of heart rate zones, visual feedback and progress logging across different environments. The company said this approach removes the need for specialist hardware, making the technology more accessible for organisations looking to extend fitness provision beyond traditional gym settings.

Andy Peat, chief executive of Fitness On Demand, said: “People expect more than access to equipment. They want insight, recognition and to see the results of their hard work. Real-time feedback and data-driven motivation make fitness more personal and rewarding, wherever people choose to train.”

The new features include colour-coded heart rate displays, in-app challenges, cumulative activity tracking and rewards linked to time spent exercising at different intensities. Activity can be logged both inside and outside physical facilities, supporting consistency rather than one-off participation.

For employers, such tools may help address common barriers to workplace wellbeing initiatives, including low engagement, lack of personalisation and difficulty demonstrating impact.

The enhanced heart rate training experience is available to existing customers, with pricing set to apply later in 2026.
