We Are Wellbeing to launch Zero Harm Champions training programme

We Are Wellbeing – a founding member of The Well Crowd – is preparing to launch a new training programme aimed at strengthening workplace safety culture by developing internal champions who can influence behaviour and wellbeing across organisations.
The initiative, called Zero Harm Champions, is designed to equip employees with the skills to promote wellbeing and safety, identify early warning signs of risk, challenge unsafe behaviours and support colleagues through open conversations about workplace pressures and performance.
Unlike traditional safety training, the programme focuses on building psychological safety and everyday leadership within teams. By developing employees who can act as trusted advocates for wellbeing and accountability, the approach aims to help organisations move beyond policies and procedures towards cultures where people feel confident raising concerns and addressing potential risks early.
The launch comes as employers increasingly recognise that workplace safety is closely linked to wellbeing and psychological safety. Research across UK workplaces has shown that employees are often reluctant to speak up about concerns, mistakes or pressures, highlighting the role that trusted peer champions and supportive cultures can play in preventing incidents and supporting healthier, more open workplaces.
Andy Romero-Birkbeck, Founder and Director of We Are Wellbeing said: “We recognise that health and safety has progressed massively here in the UK. However, risk factors around stress management, mental ill health and some physical elements are leaving a lot to be desired.
This training isn’t to replace conventional health and safety training but to be used as an add-on for those organisations looking to raise standards and create a psychologically safe and highly performing workplace”
The Zero Harm Champions programme is expected to provide organisations with practical tools to embed a “zero harm” mindset across teams, helping create environments where safety, wellbeing and accountability are shared responsibilities rather than compliance exercises.
