Unmind secures US$26m to scale workplace mental health platform

UK-based Unmind has raised US$26m (£21m) in growth capital to expand its global workplace mental health services, as employers place increasing focus on employee wellbeing and performance.

The funding, from Trinity Capital, brings Unmind’s total capital raised to more than US$100m. It follows a US$35m Series C round earlier this year led by TELUS Global Ventures.

Founded in London, Unmind is a workplace wellbeing platform that provides digital tools and clinical support designed to make mental health care a core part of organisational performance. It currently supports nearly 3 million employees worldwide through AI-driven triage, therapy, coaching and manager training.

Nick Taylor, Unmind CEO and co-founder, said the fresh investment would allow the company to scale Nova, its mental health AI agent, while ensuring “clinical guardrails and ethical AI remain central”. The company also plans to broaden its executive and organisational insight services and strengthen its international reach.

The announcement comes at a time when workplace wellbeing is under intense scrutiny. UK surveys have shown rising levels of burnout, financial stress and absenteeism linked to poor mental health. At the same time, boards are under pressure to demonstrate measurable returns on wellbeing investment.

Analysts suggest Unmind’s funding reflects a wider shift in the market: businesses want integrated, proactive mental health ecosystems rather than fragmented employee assistance programmes. Taylor said:

“Workplace mental health has reached a turning point. “The future isn’t about choosing between quality and scale – it’s about combining both.”

For UK employers, the move underlines a growing expectation that mental health provision is not just an HR issue, but a strategic priority linked directly to productivity, retention and reputation.
