Editorial Publishing Policy
Effective Date: 02 August 2025
Last Updated: 02 August 2025
This Editorial Publishing Policy outlines the standards and practices governing the creation, review, and dissemination of editorial content on our platform (the “Website”), which publishes daily news, insights, and commentary relating to workplace wellbeing.
1. Editorial Purpose & Scope
Our mission is to provide timely, accurate, and relevant news and features that inform, inspire, and support professionals and organisations in the workplace wellbeing sector. Content may include original journalism, expert commentary, opinion pieces, sponsored content (clearly labelled), and third-party submissions.
2. Editorial Independence & Commercial Partnerships
We may feature news and updates from our commercial partners where relevant to our audience and aligned with our editorial mission. However, all editorial decisions remain solely at the discretion of our internal editorial team.
We maintain full editorial independence and are not obligated to publish, modify, or prioritise content based on commercial relationships. While partner content may be considered for inclusion, it is subject to the same editorial standards, review process, and accuracy checks as all other submissions.
No commercial partner, sponsor, or advertiser has the right to influence editorial content unless such material is explicitly published as Sponsored Content (see Section 6).
3. Accuracy & Corrections
We are committed to fact-based, balanced reporting.
All articles are reviewed for factual accuracy and journalistic integrity prior to publication.
Where errors are identified post-publication, corrections will be made promptly and transparently. Substantive corrections will be clearly marked with a “Correction” notice and date.
If you believe content is inaccurate or misleading, please email: news@thewellcrowd.com
4. Authorship & Attribution
All content will be attributed to a named author, editorial team, or contributor.
5. Editorial Review & Approval Process
All content, whether generated in-house or submitted by third parties, must:
- Meet our editorial quality standards
- Adhere to applicable UK laws and regulations, including the Defamation Act 2013, Equality Act 2010, and Data Protection Act 2018
- Be free of discriminatory, defamatory, misleading, or libellous content
- Avoid medical claims that are not substantiated by credible evidence or legally permitted marketing standards under the CAP Code and MHRA guidelines (where applicable)
We reserve the right to edit, reject, or remove any submission at our sole discretion and without warning.
6. Sponsored Content & Advertising
We may publish sponsored or advertorial content where commercial partners have paid to feature their organisation, services, or viewpoints. These will be clearly labelled as:
“Sponsored Content”
“Featured”
“In partnership with…”
Sponsored content must still comply with our editorial standards and the UK Code of Non-broadcast Advertising and Direct & Promotional Marketing (CAP Code).
Editorial and sponsored content will never be misleadingly merged.
7. Comments & Moderation
We may permit reader comments and submissions on some articles or social channels. We moderate these under the following terms:
- Comments must not include hate speech, harassment, false information, commercial spam, or defamatory language.
- We reserve the right to remove or disable comments at any time without notice.
- Repeat offenders may be blocked from future engagement.
8. Intellectual Property & Copyright
All editorial content is protected by copyright law and remains the intellectual property of The Well Crowd or the credited author. No part of this content may be reproduced or distributed without prior written permission, except where permitted under fair dealing provisions of the Copyright, Designs and Patents Act 1988.
By submitting content to The Well Crowd, contributors grant us a non-exclusive, royalty-free, worldwide licence to publish, edit, adapt, and archive the material across all media formats and platforms, including digital, print, and social channels.
We welcome and encourage exclusive content that provides unique value to our audience. However, non-exclusive content may also be considered, provided it meets our editorial standards and offers relevant insight to the workplace wellbeing community.
Contributors confirm they have the necessary rights, permissions, and authority to submit the content and grant this licence. Where exclusivity is agreed in writing, this will be clearly noted between both parties prior to publication.
9. Legal Compliance
We operate under the laws of England and Wales. All content must comply with:
- UK defamation, privacy, and intellectual property laws
- Press standards including IPSO guidelines
- Sector-specific guidance relevant to workplace wellbeing and healthcare communications
- Legal challenges or takedown requests should be addressed to: news@thewellcrowd.com
10. Updates to This Policy
This policy may be updated at any time to reflect changes in legal requirements, editorial practice, or operational needs. The most recent version will always be published on this page.
