Productivity and performance coaching provider Avilio has partnered with Aberystwyth University to support staff as the institution launches its new Strategy 2030s and wider transformation programme.
The partnership will see Avilio deliver professional training designed to help university staff improve time management, strengthen collaboration and protect wellbeing during a period of organisational change. The initiative forms part of Aberystwyth University’s efforts to ensure it is well-positioned to deliver its long-term mission to improve lives through education and research.
As part of the programme, Avilio is delivering a series of practical workshops alongside individual coaching sessions. The training focuses on building sustainable working practices, helping participants manage competing demands more effectively while maintaining performance and wellbeing.
The eight-week programme has so far involved 23 members of staff from across the university. It covers a range of practical areas, including time management capabilities, cross-functional working and the development of personalised strategies to support lasting behavioural change. Participants are supported to apply course principles in ways that reflect their individual roles and circumstances, rather than adopting a single standardised approach.
Avilio’s training model combines group learning with one-to-one coaching, allowing participants to share experience while receiving tailored support. The programme is structured around 23 specific behavioural changes, with the aim of helping individuals work more efficiently while reducing stress and overload.
Philippe Masson, chief executive of Avilio, said the partnership reflects a growing recognition of the link between productivity and wellbeing, particularly during periods of change.
Sharon Lilley, chief people officer at Aberystwyth University, said the partnership aligned with the institution’s broader commitment to staff wellbeing.
“We are pleased to partner with Avilio,” she said. “Working with them is part of our wider commitment to support the wellbeing of every member of staff, so we can deliver the best outcomes for our students and for the University.”
Universities across the UK continue to navigate significant operational and financial pressures, alongside changing expectations around workload, flexibility and staff wellbeing. Programmes that combine performance support with a focus on sustainable working practices are increasingly being positioned as part of wider people and transformation strategies.
The partnership between Avilio and Aberystwyth University highlights how targeted coaching and practical skill-building can be embedded within larger organisational strategies, rather than treated as standalone interventions
