LumApps appoints Sébastien Cano as CEO as it accelerates AI employee experience strategy

Employee experience platform LumApps has appointed Sébastien Cano as chief executive as it looks to accelerate the development of its AI-enabled Workhub and expand its global enterprise business.
Cano will take up the role on 1 December 2026, succeeding founder and current CEO Sébastien Ricard, who will become executive chairman and remain involved in the company’s long-term strategy and governance.
The leadership change comes as LumApps increases its focus on using AI to bring together workplace communication, information, learning, productivity tools and workflows.
The company says its platform is used by more than 10 million people and is designed to connect employees across both frontline and desk-based roles.
As organisations introduce more workplace platforms and AI-enabled tools, the challenge is increasingly not simply providing technology but ensuring it makes work easier rather than adding further complexity to employees’ working lives.
Cano brings more than two decades of enterprise software leadership to the role, including senior executive positions at technology companies Thales and Gemalto, where he led international operations and business expansion.
He will be based at LumApps’ US headquarters in Austin, Texas, and will focus on delivering the company’s Workhub product strategy and expanding its enterprise presence globally.
Ricard said: “Over 10 years ago, we founded LumApps with a simple goal: to transform how businesses connect, inform, and engage every employee, anywhere. Thanks to our customers and partners, LumApps has become the global leader in employee experience. As we enter our next major phase of innovation & growth, Sébastien Cano’s extensive track record in leading enterprise tech companies makes him the ideal leader to guide LumApps forward.”
Cano added: “LumApps has built an exceptional platform, a world-class team, and a highly trusted brand among businesses of all sizes across the globe. Based in our U.S. headquarters in Austin, Texas, I look forward to working closely with our customers, partners, and global teams to keep delivering on our promise across all regions. I am excited to join the organization at this pivotal moment. My priority will be accelerating our Workhub innovation roadmap, and ensuring every employee across lines of business and industries maximizes the value of their LumApps solution in an AI-driven world.”
LumApps integrates with Google Workspace and Microsoft 365 and uses AI agents connected across enterprise systems to help employees find information and complete workplace tasks.
The company is backed by private equity firm Bridgepoint and said its next phase will focus on international expansion, growing its enterprise presence and accelerating AI-led innovation.
The development comes as employee experience technology increasingly intersects with workplace wellbeing. Poorly connected systems, difficulty finding information and an expanding number of digital tools can contribute to friction in employees’ working lives, putting greater emphasis on whether AI and workplace technology can simplify work rather than add to digital overload.
