Onebright acquires Mindstep to create integrated digital mental health and neurodevelopment service

Onebright Group has acquired digital mental health platform Mindstep in a move that brings together digital self-care, clinical mental health services and neurodevelopmental assessments under a single offering.
The acquisition, for an undisclosed sum, combines Onebright’s outpatient mental healthcare and neurodevelopmental services with Mindstep’s digital platform, creating what the companies describe as the UK’s first digitally led, fully integrated end-to-end wellbeing, mental healthcare and neurodevelopmental service.
The combined service is designed to provide organisations and individuals with an always-on digital entry point for mental health support. Employees can access clinically validated mental health assessments, digital screening, triage and personalised self-care content before being guided, where appropriate, into psychological therapy, psychiatric services or neurodevelopmental assessments.
The move reflects a broader shift across workplace wellbeing towards more integrated models of care, as employers look to provide earlier intervention alongside access to specialist clinical support.
Founded by Dr Aaron Lin and Dr Hamzah Selim, Mindstep is an MHRA-regulated Class I medical device. The founders, who were recently named in the Forbes 30 Under 30 list for Science and Healthcare, will remain with the business and join Onebright Group’s senior leadership team.
Donald Fowler, CEO of Onebright Group, said the acquisition addresses the fragmented nature of mental health support.
“From our first meeting it was clear that the combination of Mindstep and Onebright Group could create something really powerful in the mental health space. Today, individuals and organisations have to navigate a frustratingly fragmented ecosystem of different platforms and clinical providers depending on their mental health requirements, and our new integrated end-to-end offering puts an end to that.”
Dr Aaron Lin, founder and COO of Mindstep, said the partnership would enable the platform to reach more people while strengthening its clinical capabilities.
“As the UK’s leading provider of mental healthcare and neurodevelopmental services, Onebright will bolster Mindstep’s product, platform and work, allowing us to reach more people and have a broader impact than we can achieve alone. Their clinical expertise in the mental health space will further strengthen our clinical rigour and clinical excellence.”
The acquisition comes as employers continue to invest in more joined-up approaches to workforce mental health, combining preventative digital tools with faster access to clinical services where higher levels of support are needed.
