E.ON shortlisted for five categories at TLC Lions Human Awards 2025

E.ON UK has been recognised among the country’s most people-focused employers after being shortlisted in five major categories at this year’s TLC Lions Human Awards.
The awards celebrate organisations and leaders who are redefining workplace culture through courage, compassion and connection. E.ON’s multiple nominations highlight its continued investment in empathy-driven leadership, inclusion and colleague wellbeing.
The energy company, which won Human Company of the Year in 2024, has again been shortlisted for the same title, alongside several individual and network recognitions. Chief Operating Officer Anthony Ainsworth is nominated in the C-Suite Leader category for championing a human-centred approach across the business. Vernon Skanes, Smart New Connections Manager, is a finalist for Human Ally of the Year after sharing his personal story to help break down barriers and encourage open dialogue among colleagues.
E.ON’s Samantha Woods, a Strategic Growth and Acquisitions Associate, is nominated as Future Human Leader of the Year, recognising her work as a rising advocate for authenticity and allyship. Two of the company’s employee networks – adaptABILITY and LGBT+ & Friends – are also shortlisted for their roles in fostering inclusion and belonging.
The adaptABILITY network supports colleagues with visible and invisible disabilities, long-term health conditions and caring responsibilities, underpinned by principles of awareness, allyship, assistance and accessibility. The LGBT+ & Friends network continues to strengthen representation and visibility across the business through events, campaigns and policy engagement.
E.ON said the recognition reflects years of work to build a workplace rooted in wellbeing, empathy and trust. The company has prioritised initiatives that encourage listening, emotional intelligence and lived-experience storytelling across all levels of the organisation.
A spokesperson for E.ON said the nominations were “a powerful acknowledgment of our ongoing journey to build a workplace grounded in respect, care and connection”.
Winners of the TLC Lions Human Awards 2025 will be announced later this year, but E.ON’s strong showing already reinforces its reputation as one of the UK’s leading advocates for human-centred leadership and inclusive culture.
